Healthy looks different for everyone

Everyone has their own normal. Small deviations from it, in your walking, balance and how you get up from a chair, are often too subtle to notice, yet they can be early signs of a change in health. Properus is being built to measure them at home and show you what changed, so you can decide what to do about it.

Most changes happen between appointments

Changes in health rarely arrive all at once. Walking speed eases off, one leg’s step grows slightly shorter than the other’s, the rhythm of each stride changes, and standing up from a chair takes a little longer. Spread over months, they are too gradual to notice, even for the person living them.

A checkup sees one day. The changes happen on all the others.

What Properus does

Properus is being built to bring movement analysis found in labs and clinics into the home, with no wearables and privacy built in: no footage ever leaves the house. You see how your own movement is changing, and you decide what to do about it, whether that means seeing a doctor or changing a routine.

What it is built to do

Your baseline
Learns your normal over your first weeks at home, then shows how much your movement drifts from it.

How it works

  1. 1In the home

    See

Two small units in the room you move around in most run pose estimation on what their sensors see, and our Human Mesh Recovery model reconstructs the body in 3D, moment by moment. No footage leaves the home network.

  2. 2In the home

    Measure

The 3D body model becomes numbers: walking speed, cadence, step length, left and right balance, and time to stand up. The same movement is measured the same way every day.

  3. 3Measurements only

    Compare

A proprietary machine learning ensemble reads each measurement against your own normal, learned from ordinary days, and allows for context such as the time of day or carrying a bag.

  4. 4In the app

    Show

You see what changed, by how much and since when, next to your check-ins and routines.

Private by design

Video stays on the home network. Only measurements ever leave it.

  • Processed at home

Every frame is processed on the units. Video is never uploaded.

  • We can’t watch

Properus has no access to video and no way to view the footage captured by the units.

  • No microphone

No audio and no face recognition.

  • Encrypted

Measurements are encrypted in transit and at rest.

  • You’re in control

Your data is yours, and you choose when the units are on.

One system, two places people live

The same hardware works at home and in care facilities.

Independent living and everyday health

People in later life who want to keep living at home have the most to gain. But it is for anyone who wants to know how their body is doing, whether they are staying active or recovering from an injury.

Assisted living and nursing homes

Most care facilities struggle to hire enough staff. Properus will show their teams how each resident is moving, through software made for them.

51%

more likely to move into a nursing home within a year, for older adults who have had a fall.

Dobash et al., American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, January 2026

91%

of nursing home providers say recruiting new staff is difficult.

Questions

Is it a camera?

The units use cameras to see how you move, but Properus is not a video service. Every frame is processed on the units in your home, and only measurements ever leave it.

Does anyone at Properus watch the video?

No. Video stays on your home network. Properus has no access to it and no way to view it.

Do I need to wear anything?

No. There are no wearables and nothing to remember. You go about your day as usual.

Who sees my data?

You do. Your measurements are encrypted, and you choose who else sees them, whether that is family, care staff or your doctor.

When will it be available?

We are still in development.

“Properus has a simple mission: to help people live longer, fuller lives by giving them information about their health they could never detect on their own.”
